My Story

Hello, my name is Petronila Morente Ajqui. It is a pleasure to greet you today. I hope you are well as you read this letter. I want to thank you for taking the time out of your day to read about me. I am a 16-year-old girl in Guatemala. I live in a small place called Cuatro Caminos. I am excited because I will turn 17 at the end of this year on December 20^th. I am in fifth grade this year, and we are about the finish the school year. Thankfully, I have done well, and everything has been good for me and my family. We are all in good health. My dad’s name is David Morente Ruiz. He is a farmer, and he is the one who provides for our family. He covers our expenses with what he earns. My mom’s name is Juana Ajqui. She stays home to take care of the housework and chores. I spend a lot of time with her because I help her a lot with the chores. She is very special to me, and she always teaches me how to do the things she does.

She also makes a little bit of money to help at home by selling our sheep. She raises them and takes care of them so she can sell them when they get a little older. My family does not go to church. We never have, and we don’t really have any plan to. We are really busy, and we don’t have time to go to church. I have a best friend that I love to spend time with. Her name is Geidy, and we have been friends for three years. We love talking and doing homework together. That is all from me for now. I hope you enjoyed reading my information today. It feels so good to think that someone from so far away knows my name and is thinking of me. I say goodbye for now with a big hug!
