My Story

This is Rosendo Calachij Toj, and I am updating you about my family and me. First, I will tell you about my family. Currently, we are members of Light and Life Assembly of God Church, and we attend services on Tuesday and Friday; we are assured in our Salvation. LW Evangelism team has encouraged us to continue trusting in God. We have hens, pigs, sheep and turkeys at home, and we sell them when we need money. We also grow corn and black beans, and they are for our consumption. We are a humble family, and our greatest needs are groceries. My father’s name is Rosendo, and he is 39 years old. He works as a farmer, but unfortunately, he sometimes does not help the family financially because he spends all his money on alcohol. It has been very difficult for us to go ahead due to my father’s alcoholic problem. My mother’s name is Estela, and she is 35 years old. She is healthy, and she works hard at home.

Now let me tell you a little about myself. I am 11 years old, and I am healthy. I am in third grade again, and it is better for me to attend school in person because I learn more. It has been difficult for my mother to cover my school expenses; she sometimes has to lend money for what I need. I want to have a stable job in the future in order to support my family. My favorite celebration is New Year because I enjoy the “tamales” in family and I can light fireworks. I would like to have a special lunch in family for my birthday. I prefer soccer as a sport, and I love drinking sodas like Pepsi. I want to improve my Spanish since I speak Quiche dialect as my first language. Living Water is very important in my life, and it is a great blessing to receive food and gifts through the feeding program. I hope to hear from you soon.

All the best
