This is Yadira Eliana Toj Mucia, and I am writing this to update my 2023 information. First, I will tell you about my family. We are still members of the Catholic Church, and we attend the mass on Monday and Wednesday. We are assured in our Salvation. We have hens and pigs at home, and we sell them when we need money. We grow corn and black beans for our consumption, and we grow peanuts for selling. We are a humble family, and our greatest needs are groceries. Sadly, my father passed away many years ago, and now, my mother has abandoned me. I am under the care of my grandmother, Manuela Garcia, and she raises domestic animals and sells her crops to cover our needs. She has a son who is in the United States, and he is sending us economic support. She has four children more, but they have problems walking and talking.
Now let me tell you a little about myself. I am 17 years old, and I am healthy. I no longer attend school this year due to our low resources. I would have liked to continue studying. I now keep busy helping with the household chores. My favorite celebration is Christmas because we share the “tamales” with the family. I like going out to some place when it is my birthday. I prefer swimming as a sport, and I love drinking sodas like Pepsi. Living Water is very important in my life, and we are grateful for the delicious food and medicine for free. I hope to hear from you soon.
All the best
